Beard Prompt and Faultless Delivery Awards recognise company ‘stars’
Our second annual Beard Prompt and Faultless Delivery (P&FD) Awards topped the bill at this year’s company-wide Communications Day at the Madejski Stadium in Reading on 27 January. More than 200 staff, clients and special guests attended the event which saw three finalists in the running for Beard’s most coveted ‘Oscars’.
Leading the judging panel and presenting the awards was special guest Roger Flanagan, Past President of the CIOB chair and professor of Construction Management at Reading University, who named project manager Mike Miles as this year’s P&FD award winner which comes with a £1,500 prize.
Mike took the top accolade for project managing the prompt and faultless delivery of Norfolk House, a £5.3 million refurbishment of the former HM Revenue and Customs tax office in Bristol which has been transformed into high-specification student accommodation.
The three runners up were Nick Andrews for Royal Surrey County Hospital, Chris Randall for St John’s School and Paul Renton-Rose for Balliol College Kitchen also received a certificate and £1,000 for their outstanding achievements.
The awards ceremony, which screens films of all projects the finalists have worked on during the year, celebrates outstanding people within our business whose commitment to construction excellence and customer service reflect Beard’s prompt and faultless business delivery culture.
“These awards recognize and reward star people in our business who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide our clients with a high-quality project which they are truly delighted with and which meets their exact requirements,” says chief executive Mark Beard. “All four of our finalists must be congratulated for their fantastic achievements, they are a great advert for our company and an inspiration to us all.”
This year’s staff Communications Day opened with a business review and a look back at highlights of 2015 together with a briefing from Mark Beard on budget, business objectives and opportunities for this year.
