Charity Bike Ride for Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice

It’s time to get on your bike as Beard helps to build a local children’s hospice. Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is Beard’s charity of the year and we are organising a fundraising sponsored bike ride on Saturday, September 19th.

This local charity was set up by Fiona and John Devine, inspired by their son, Alexander. It was only when Alexander was diagnosed with a brain tumour, aged just four, that they realised there was no children’s hospice in the Berkshire area.

Sadly Alexander died after a brave 4½ year battle, but Fiona and John were so determined that the care and support they so desperately needed would be there for other local families, they founded Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service and now Beard is preparing to start work on this remarkable building.  Now we need you to saddle up and get fundraising!

We are looking for cyclists who want to cycle from one of our 3 offices to Alexander Devine Hospice in Maidenhead.  We will lay on a BBQ or perhaps catering in a local pub details to be confirmed at a later date.

A rough estimate of the distances is as follows:

Guildford office to Maidenhead- 23 miles

Oxford office to Maidenhead- 39 miles

Swindon office to Maidenhead- 62 miles

We will lay on transport to get you and your bike back to the respective offices so you’re not stranded in Maidenhead!

If this is something you are interested in doing to help raise money for this worthy charity then please contact Lucie Elliott at the Oxford office.

We would like to get as many people taking part as possible, so if you know any friends/partners or suppliers that would be interested in participating then please let them know about this and pass on their details.

Please contact Lucie Elliott for further information at [email protected]

Thank you in anticipation
