A high quality fast-track construction of the new car showrooms and dealer facilities for Nissan and Skoda.
This project had to be delivered in a short time-span of 26 weeks during adverse weather conditions which threated to delay the works programme.
The new Nissan and Skoda car dealership facilities are arranged over two floors, providing new showrooms, offices, workshops, a valet building together with a used car display and extensive customer parking. Beard built these using a steel frame construction on traditional trench foundations with reinforced power floated slabs, in situ poured concrete on metal decking, Kingspan cladding and aluminium curtain walling.
The project team also carried out a full mechanical and electrical installation including data cabling, fire alarm and security, as well as specialist workshop equipment.

Fast ‘fit out’ and a close dialogue with the design team and client were crucial in achieving project goals. Dealing with bad weather to complete the project on time required a flexible approach. Early pouring of the first floor in conjunction with the ground floor slab enabled Beard’s project team to pull building operations forward, opening access to all areas even before external cladding had been completed.Disruption to other businesses around the construction site was minimised through careful control of vehicle movements. Any potential issues over access were avoided through friendly dialogue from the site team, which created a positive atmosphere.
