The complete refurbishment of a 1980s commercial unit into high-quality commercial office space.

Project

The existing two-storey commercial unit was entirely stripped back to be modernised with a new mechanical and electrical fit out including new air-conditioning, raised access floors and new toilet facilities. The roof covering was retained and cleaned, guttering was replaced and existing aluminium windows were re-sprayed, helping to achieve project efficiencies.

As a result of the success of this project, the client awarded our project team a second contract to resurface the road and parking areas within the business park, along with a full landscaping scheme including the construction of new fencing and bin stores.

Solutions

A priority for our construction team was maintaining good relations with the other tenants in the business park by ensuring that works were programmed around peak hours and giving them advance notice of any loud and disruptive activities planned. Our team communicated with the tenants on a regular basis and kept them informed of the project’s progress and of any particularly noisy upcoming activities. We built a strong working relationship with the project designers advising on buildability issues and design development. Great communication and a hands-on approach to dealing promptly with any construction issues ensured a successful build which met the client’s objectives and was delivered within the project deadlines.
