We construct spaces for people. For lives lived well. For work with purpose.

An award-winning construction company with a commitment to excellence and an ambition to make a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. We create spaces with integrity, imagination and commitment.

Over the years we have developed a wide skill set and our combination of traditional building skills and modern construction management techniques, enable us to deliver challenging and award-winning projects. These are often in difficult locations or in constrained conditions, working alongside our customers' own activities.

We enjoy working with customers who share our values and are dedicated to delivering for them; this has resulted in many longstanding customer relationships with real benefits for both parties.

Little could Beard's founder, Edward William Beard, know when he started working for his father in the summer of 1892, at the age of 14, that Beard would become the well-respected construction company it is today, turning over in excess of £150 million and employing more than 300 people. Beard was also awarded PWC West of England Business of the Year in 2014.

Headed up by the fourth generation of the Beard family, Mark Beard, the assets we have built over many years - our skills and knowledge, supply chain partners, systems, tools and technology - are brought to every project; alongside a customer-focused approach and long-standing commitment to Prompt and Faultless Delivery.

The site team were consummate professionals who took time to understand how the college operates and achieved the required high standards of quality with minimal disruptions to lessons during the project....I would not hesitate to either recommend or use Beard Construction again should we require their services as they match their professionalism with the quality of their build.
Michael Chiyasa, Head of Estates of Capital Development
Abingdon and Witney College
Part of the reason for choosing Beard, apart from the obvious of quality, cost and programme, was their ability to communicate a sense of personal warmth – these were real human beings – and a commitment to building a strong relationship. This wasn’t just about undertaking a job and making a profit, it was also about leaving behind a positive experience for both sides.
Allan Dodd, Bursar
Mansfield College
Beard played it very straight, when there was bad news they were open and upfront about it, and where there were difficulties Beard focused on solving the problems efficiently rather than exploiting the situation and we are very appreciative of that
Peter Alsop, Bursar
Wadham College
Working with people like Richie, Martin and Adam at Beard gives me the confidence to make bold decisions in an atmosphere of mutual support and collaboration, knowing that the builders will help me to a successful outcome. I trust them and I am very happy to recommend them to architects with demanding projects requiring special skill and care.
Niall McLaughlin, Niall McLaughlin Architects
The Bishop Edward King Chapel at Cuddesdon and the Nazrin Shah Centre at Worcester College
I just wanted to say how impressed we have been with Beard construction who are building directly behind our house. The communication by letters is excellent, the staff members are always friendly and helpful whenever we have questions and the noise and disruption has been kept to a minimum. Please pass on our thanks to such a thoughtful and polite crew. Well done to the site team!
