Our family ethos, and our long standing commitment to the communities we work in, is something that never falters.
Our teams go above and beyond to deliver much more local value than the buildings we construct. A great many acts of kindness start within our site boundaries.
In addition, each year our local offices support a chosen Charity of the Year, through ongoing initiatives that uplift communities, improve lives and engage our people in meaningful activities for themselves and others.
Engaging with local charities & communities not only positively impacts those in need but also fosters a sense of pride and unity, creating a shared purpose beyond the workplace.
Swindon
Swindon is taking on challenges throughout 2026 to help people or families going through particularly difficult periods in their lives.
Julia’s House provide practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at our hospices.
Activities to support the charity have included Gloucester Half & 10K, a Breakfast BBQ, Cake Sale, Golf Day, and even Christmas tree collections!
In addition, the team continues to support Youth Adventures Trust for a third consecutive year - taking on the Wiltshire Three Peaks again in 2026.
Guildford
Tommy’s is Guildford's chosen charity.
Tommy’s is the leading charity funding pregnancy research in the UK. They provide pregnancy resources such as free tools and calculators to support a healthy happy pregnancy. They also support anyone who has lost a baby and fund vital research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, to save babies’ lives.
The team have supported the charity with fundraising in the office such as sweepstakes and have a sky dive coming up this year!
As an extension of a masterclass held at Guildford Technology College, and with the support of our supply chain partner IN2 conversions, three work experience students had the opportunity to build a lean-too for the Shooting Star shop.
While creating much needed storage space for the charity shop, this also gave the students the opportunity to take their classroom learnings into the real world, installing everything from stud work, roof joist and shiplap cladding to installing a door, lining and roof.
Southampton
Colleagues in our new Southampton office have chosen to support Naomi and Jack’s, a local independent charity that provides expert care for seriously ill babies, children and young adults in two specialist centres near Winchester.
They support more than 600 families in central southern England with outstanding care, specialist short breaks (respite), play and activities, therapeutic support and bereavement support.
In May the team set themselves the challenge of walking an incredible 18 miles from a project in Winchester to a project in Southampton along the Itchen Navigator raising an amazing £3,487!
As well as this impressive walk, the team have also done some gardening at the charity.
Oxford
Oxford have chosen SeeSaw as their charity for the year and have a golf day and sky dive lined up to raise funds for the vital work that SeeSaw provides in Oxfordshire.
SeeSaw support children, young people and their families when they have been bereaved or when somebody close to them is terminally ill.
The team will also be hosting a summer BBQ and hosting other challenges to raise money for this great cause.
The Oxford team has had loads of fun getting involved in OxTRAIL.
From building the concrete bases at one of our sites and sponsoring our very own Ox (Eve) to enjoying the trail and helping to moooove the herd back for auction, we are delighted to now have welcomed Eve to her forever-home in our Oxford office.
In true style, our trusted regional supply chain partners have been an integral part and we thank them for their involvement and generosity!
Bristol
Our Bristol colleagues have chosen to support the wonderful charity Young Lives Vs Cancer.
Young Lives vs Cancer provide tailored support to children and young people with cancer, and their families. They are the only charity in the UK with specialist social workers and aim to provide the right care and support at the right time.
To support the charity, our team have taken part in various challenges, from climbing Pen-Y-Fan to running Bath Half Marathon.
The Bristol office also have an initiative to challenge their “Rise & Connect” cohort of students to raise money for the charity.
