Construction students in Oxford will gain direct on-site work experience, thanks to a partnership between family-owned business Beard Construction and Abingdon & Witney College.
We are pleased to announce our support of the T-Level Technical Qualification in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction, supporting the full student cohort for the two-year duration of their course.
Starting in the 2025/26 academic year, it forms part of our ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of construction professionals.
The partnership will see our colleagues provide hands-on opportunities for students to join them on construction sites across Oxfordshire to help to develop their practical skills, including on the RAAC remediation project at the College’s Witney Campus.
Dean Averies, Oxford Director
Students will be invited to meet the Beard team and join a culture and values talk where they will have the opportunity to discuss their career aspirations and perceptions of the industry.
Beard plans to host regular breakfast meetings with the students, led by Dean Averies and senior colleagues, to offer ongoing senior team support and wider engagement opportunities.
