Beard marks exceptional year of growth with significant charitable donation

We're pleased to have posted another record year, with customers, charities and employees all benefitting from business success.

The company today (16 March 2026) shared details of our record trading period in the full year to 31 December 2025, with turnover rising by 16% to £230m, achieving profits of £9m.

Rather than accepting increased dividend payments, the shareholders have decided to donate half of the year’s profit to Oxfordshire Community Foundation and Wiltshire & Swindon Community Foundation. These donations will help to improve the lives of thousands of people in our trading areas.

Our strong performance was underpinned by the completion of 62 projects from our offices in Bristol, Guildford, Oxford, Southampton and Swindon. Beard also saw enhanced success through frameworks and direct awards, as well as through improvements in efficiency and working collaboratively with customers who share our values.

Finance director, Fraser Johns, said: “Our ethos of prompt and faultless delivery, alongside a continued focus on getting the basics right have laid the foundations for the strongest three-year period in the company’s history.

“During this time, we have expanded our presence across all regions, particularly in Southampton where our newest office opened in 2024. Our special projects division – comprising work up to £2m in value – continues to be a key contributor to our growth and success.

“Our pipeline of work is healthy, which stands us in good stead for the more competitive conditions we anticipate as we move further into 2026.

Our ambitions for the year ahead remain strong with a continued focus on supporting our people, supply chain and customers, who are core to our continued success.

Fraser Johns, Finance Director

Prioritising people

In response to our continued success, 27 internal promotions were made and employee numbers grew by 5.35% to 354 in 2025.

We are now supporting a record number of apprentices, degree apprentices, construction trainees and T-Level students, with more than 38 young professionals currently working across the business. The 2025/26 cohort represents around 11% of our workforce, highlighting the scale of our investment in skills development.

In 2025, our team also delivered £45m in social value across 27 completed projects, with 94% of spend with micro, small and medium enterprises. More than £130k was raised by Beard staff for five charities, and the firm collaborated with 66 educational partners, reaching upwards of 19,000 students and young people.
