We're delighted to have welcomed some new starters at Beard this autumn.
Our recent recruits are at different stages in their construction career journeys - from trainee to senior advisor - but all are looking forward to fresh opportunities to develop at Beard.
A warm welcome to…
- Sonya Anderson-Davies, Senior HR/People Advisor (Central)
- Ryan O'Donovan, Assistant Site Manager (Bristol)
- Kyle Cullen, Trainee Site Manager (Bristol)
- Tom Banks, Assistant Building Services Manager (Swindon)
- Chloe Brinkley, Construction Trainee (Oxford)
We spoke to three new members of staff about what attracted them to work at Beard…
Chloe Brinkley, studying Construction Project Management at Oxford Brookes University and completing a Construction Trainee placement at Beard, said:
"I stumbled upon Emma Woodin talking her about experiences at Beard at a careers fair. She talked about the projects she had been on, and how much she had learnt during her placement year."
"So, I did more research into Beard and liked the projects that they had done in the past, especially around Oxford."
"I'm looking forward to learning about different roles in the construction industry, as well as the different phases a project goes through to get to the point of handover."
Tom Banks has returned to Beard as an Assistant Building Services Manager, three years after completing work experience with us!
"I first had 3 weeks work experience on a project with the Guildford office in the Summer of 2022, and I enjoyed it to so much that I submitted an application for a placement and got accepted."
"I had a Year in Industry from July 2023 to August 2024 with Beard in Building Services and I loved the role so much that I wanted to come back and carry on my job."
Ryan O'Donovan, who recently completed a degree in Construction Project Management at UWE, said:
"I completed a placement year with Beard between second and final year of university, and I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to return as an Assistant Site Manager following my studies."
"I'm most looking forward to getting stuck in on site, and gaining more experience and knowledge to allow me to continue to develop."
