A huge congratulations to the deserving winners of our Guildford supply chain awards!
We were pleased to welcome our supply chain partners to an event in Guildford last week, bringing teams together to celebrate our shared achievements, strengthen our collaboration, and recommit to delivering exceptional projects.
The event included our annual awards, which recognise outstanding performance and excellence. From a shortlist of talented nominees, the winners were:

- Best Quality Performance - J M R Brickwork Ltd
- Best Site Supervisor - Mihail Matragun, J M R Brickwork
- Supply Chain Partner of the Year - DXdevelopments
At the annual event, our Guildford director, Tom Jenkinson, opened with a warm welcome, reflecting on the strength of our partnerships.

This event provided an opportunity to recognise how our collective efforts create projects that not only meet but exceed expectations, and leave a lasting impact on the communities in and around Guildford through exceptional build quality and social impact initiatives.
James Holmes, our Construction Manager, highlighted health and safety, sharing details of two Beard gold H&S awards that underscore our exemplary ‘don’t walk by’ approach. Colleagues Oli Kenworthy, Simon Webster, Matt Siddall, and John Stevens gave progress updates on our projects across the region, as well as sharing how we’re embracing innovation, with tools like 360 cameras and the MSite pre-enrolment platform driving efficiency across our sites.
Senior bid manager Garry Millard extended our thanks to partners for playing a pivotal part in in our tender process, and highlighted the importance of quality submission. Company quality manager Paul Wills reinforced our commitment to the #giri (Get It Right Initiative), linking high safety standards with faultless delivery.
Paula Baleson and Kali Gill from our social value team led a powerful discussion on social impact and community value, encouraging teams to collaborate on initiatives that build thriving communities, nurture future talent, and care for our planet.
Our guest speaker, Sarah Blake from Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, our Guildford charity of the year, spoke passionately about their £12m annual fundraising goal to provide free, compassionate end-of-life care. Our work to build their new hospice will expand capacity to meet growing demand, and her words inspired us to deepen our community impact.
But our support for the Hospice doesn’t end with the building itself. Beard colleagues are taking part in the Pedal to Paris event this September; an epic fundraiser which will see teams cycle from London to Paris over four days.
