Beard raises funds for Youth Adventure Trust during 2025 charity golf day

During our 2025 charity golf event, participants swung, putted, and chipped their way to raising over £4,500 for charity.

On a gloriously sunny day, we invited 72 employees, partners and friends to tee off in support of the Youth Adventure Trust at the Kendleshire Golf Club.

Guests included representatives from Ridge and Partners, Swindon Borough Council, Holland Cooper, Oxford Architects, Serco, Sphere Solutions, 365 Contractors, Acorn Recruitment, and many more.

A highlight of the day was an inspirational talk by Philippa Cox, Corporate Partnership Manager at the Youth Adventure Trust, who shared first-hand accounts of how the charity uplifts and empowers young people through outdoor challenges and activities.

A huge thank you to everyone who has offered such generous sponsorship, donations and support. It really means the world to have so many friends that are willing to battle the sunny conditions on the golf course and raise over £4.5k for our chosen charity. You all 'putt' your hearts into it - and planning for next year is already underway!

Matthew McCrory, Commercial Manager

Philippa also offered congratulations and handed out prizes to our winners:

  • Best Individual Score - Claire Alexander (Swindon Borough Council and Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership)
  • Team Event - Claire Alexander, Chris Roberts (Swindon Borough Council), Jon Darby (Oldland Electrical Services), and Matthew McCrory (Beard)
  • Longest Drive - John Turner (Outline Recruitment)
  • Nearest the Pin - Chris Jones (Beard)
  • "Being Better Tomorrow Than We Are Today" award - Joshua Compton (Kendall Kingscott)

Special shout-outs went to Heather Norwood and James Lovell for orchestrating such a seamless event.

The annual golf day reflects Beard's commitment to giving back and supporting charities that are actively changing lives. We're delighted to have played our part and swung into action for such a worthy cause.
