Beard has started the final phase of a redevelopment project at Brooklands Technical College in Surrey, where a new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) facility is being constructed.
The new Vickers facility will provide specialist post-16 SEND and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) provision and with additional investment from Surrey County Council, will accommodate up to 260 students.
Members of our Guildford team and Brooklands Technical College met on site to mark the “first dig” and celebrate the start of this important phase of the College’s redevelopment.
Tom Jenkinson, Beard Guildford Director
The College is renowned across Surrey for their dedicated and experienced SEND and Transition team. This new facility will accommodate learners aged 16-24, creating a safe and supportive environment where students are able to thrive.
BTC is proud to be a leading SEND provider in Surrey, dedicated to expanding life opportunities for so many young people.”
Meisha Harding, Director of SEND & Transition at Brooklands Technical College
Following other successful educational projects completed by Beard, we were rewarded the contract. Our ethos of creating spaces for people and purpose, and building with heart and ambition, won over the selection team.
With the new space due to open next summer, we look forward to bringing this inspiring and inclusive space to life!
