Beard has started the final phase of a redevelopment project at Brooklands Technical College in Surrey, where a new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) facility is being constructed.
The new Vickers building will provide specialist post-16 SEND and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) provision. Thanks to additional investment from Surrey County Council, this space will accommodate up to 260 students.
Members of our Guildford team and Brooklands Technical College met on site to mark the “first dig” and celebrate this important phase of the College’s £45m transformation.

The College is renowned across Surrey for its dedicated and experienced SEND and Transition team. This vital new facility will accommodate learners aged 16-24, creating a safe and supportive environment where students are given the tools to thrive.

We were awarded the contract following other successful educational projects completed by Beard teams. Our ethos of creating spaces for people and purpose, and building with heart and ambition, won over the selection committee.
