Welcoming new talent: meet our new summer starters

Please join us in welcoming some of the new faces who have joined our team in recent months.

In our commitment to nurturing the next generation, our summer recruits include a new cohort of construction trainees, who will be getting hands-on experience and learning from our talented team.

A warm welcome to…

  • Anas Chowdhury, Site Manager (Oxford)
  • Jake Davis, Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Oxford)
  • Alfie King, Construction Trainee (Swindon)
  • Noah Bowles, Construction Trainee (Guildford)
  • Alfie Burton, Construction Trainee (Swindon)
  • Finn Buckingham-Ryder, Construction Trainee (Guildford)
  • Ollie White, Construction Trainee (Bristol)

We spoke to three of our new construction trainees about what attracted them to work at Beard…

Mechanical Engineering student at Cardiff University, Alfie King, said: "I have just completed my third year studying mechanical engineering at Cardiff University and have one more to go.

"After looking around for summer jobs, I loved the morals that Beard presented and the way the company runs.

"I am excited to expand my knowledge of M&E and explore construction within my 3 month stay."

Noah Bowles is studying Architectural Engineering at the University of Plymouth.

He said: "My degree is Architectural Engineering at the University of Plymouth. I’m here to gain real-life experience and I’m looking forward to working with people from different parts of the business, as part of a team.

"I’m hoping that this placement will help me to decide which role I want to do after I graduate as I have not decided yet."

Alfie Burton is studying Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management at University of the West England, Bristol.

He told us: “I was drawn to Beard because of its strong reputation for quality, its values-driven approach, and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment.

“I’m looking forward to getting stuck into live projects, learning how things work on site, and building up my confidence in a real construction environment. I’m keen to take on new challenges and grow my skills through hands-on experience.”
