Beard wins prestigious RoSPA President’s Award for second time

We've won a prestigious President’s Award from RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) for a second year running. The win follows on the heels of 11 consecutive gold awards for health and safety.

The President’s Award recognises our continued dedication to ensuring colleagues and stakeholders get home safely at the end of every working day. Beard is among a select few in the construction sector to receive the award for the whole company rather than for an individual division or region.

Our fantastic award win demonstrates our continuing deep-rooted commitment to ensuring all staff and stakeholders get home safe every day. The safety of all those that work for us or interact with us is paramount. While a significant reduction in slips, trips and falls and our overall accident rate in 2024 is more than enough reward for us, we’re delighted to receive the President’s Award from RoSPA for the second year running.

Jamie Harwood, Swindon & Health & Safety Director

In 2023 alone, we completed close to 50 projects. Highlights last year included:

  • Completing £26m extension and refurbishment of Grade II* listed Rhodes House, Oxford
  • Completing £17m zero-carbon Bristol office development, Aztec 1000
  • Completing £17m community tennis centre clubhouse for the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Raynes Park
  • Starting on new £16m flagship Porsche dealership for Dick Lovett centre in Newport, Wales
  • Starting the £7m transformation of Grade II listed Trowbridge Town Hall.
Workplace accidents don't just pose financial risks and operational disruptions; they significantly impact the quality of life for individuals. This is why acknowledging and rewarding excellent safety performance is vital.

We congratulate Beard for winning a prestigious RoSPA President’s Award and showing an unwavering commitment to keeping employees and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.
