Beard celebrates new construction talent during T-Levels Week

At Beard, we believe it’s critical to invest in and develop tomorrow’s workforce. That's why we offer placements to T-Level students at the very beginning of their journeys into construction - like Caio Da Silva.

Caio completed his T-Level in Design, Surveying & Planning for Construction at Cirencester College in 2025. He joined us in August on a full-time contract as a Trainee Site Manager and is about to start his 2-year college course at the City of Bristol college, where he will be studying for a Level 4 construction site supervisor apprenticeship.

As part of the Cirencester College Advisory Panel for Construction, we're one of a small number of construction partners working with the college to help plan the way forward for T-levels - designing the types of placements that give students an insight into the industry and equip them with the skills they need.

Caio's continuing to thrive, and was recently awarded a monthly recognition award at the Swindon regional briefing.

Caio’s professionalism, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn impressed the Swindon team during his T-Level placement - we were delighted to welcome him back in August on a full-time contract as a Trainee Site Manager.

At Beard, we’re committed to nurturing the next generation of construction talent, and T-Level placements are a fantastic way to invest in young people like Caio. We’ve seen first-hand how valuable these placements are for both the student and the business, and we’re looking forward to welcoming more T-Level students at Beard.

Team members across Beard, like Social Value Coordinator Bev Parfitt, have helped to make Beard a chosen destination for young people keen to break into construction.

As an Ambassador for construction trainees, Bev provides tailored support and extension activities - like the Foundations and Futures Day event held in July and the Rise & Connect breakfast held in September.

Bev is passionate about championing young people's careers, and enabling them to make the most of opportunities. Her background in education means she is well placed to offer guidance for young people to find the right path into the industry, and to support them throughout their placements.

Creating T-Level placements and work experience opportunities doesn’t just benefit young people. Students bring a fresh approach, perspective, and energy to Beard, and – essentially – help to future-proof the sector.

This T-Levels week, we want to say thank you to Bev and to everyone at Beard who has helped to forge new pathways into construction.
