Working around the Roman monuments and archaeology to install various features that are now part of the scheme including the metal walkways, which are sat on concrete foundations.
Beard worked closely with the conservationists, archaeologists and the design team to understand the challenge and help with installing the right solution to overcome the problem.
Logistics were hard with the project being in the city centre, no access by vehicles from 10am, challenging site with very small lay-down area for materials and cranes.
We worked with our supply chain extensively to ensure the forward planning of materials was at the forefront of the project. All materials were planned for certain types of vehicles and times.
The extensive temporary works undertaken with large sections of the building being propped at various times.
Through the efficient programming we were able to have sections of the building propped to allow for the works to continue in different areas to make sure the project was never brought to a stop.
