Beard celebrates supply chain partners at Swindon event

This week, more than 200 people came together at our Swindon Supply Chain Event to celebrate the strength of our partnerships.

The event was a welcome opportunity to connect with valued supply chain partners, colleagues, representatives from local colleges and industry voices. It was also a chance to explore some of the biggest challenges - and opportunities - facing the sector.

Guest speakers and attendees discussed skills shortages, health and wellbeing, quality standards, culture and behaviour, and how digital tools can help us work more safely and effectively. There was also a strong focus on building links between industry and education to inspire the next generation of construction professionals.

A key theme throughout the morning was the importance of collaboration. Our supply chain is critical to our success, and this event only reinforced the value of these relationships.

Speakers highlighted how working closely together across the industry can help tackle shared challenges, consistently raise standards and cement a stronger future for construction.

Presentations were delivered by members of our Swindon team, including Rob Steele, Ben Withey, Matt Leach, Martin Pomroy and Matt Hill. We were also delighted to welcome guest speakers Kevin Harris, CEO of Constructing Excellence South West, and Rob Murray from New Pangea.

Kevin shared insights into addressing the industry's skills gap, while Rob delivered a powerful session on suicide prevention and the importance of looking out for one another.

The morning concluded with the Swindon Supply Chain Awards, celebrating the organisations and individuals who consistently go above and beyond to support Beard projects and uphold the high standards we strive for together.
